Abhijit Guha and Sudeshna Roy’s ‘Benche Thakar Gaan’ has been selected as the opening film of ‘Kolkata International Film Festival’ from 11th November to 18th November, the festival will feature 155 movies from 65 countries in 20 categories in 13 locations.
The movie stars Gargee Roy Chowdhury, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Paran Banerjee, Anamika Saha, Dwijen Banerjee, Alokananda Roy, Ardhendu Banerjee, Indrani Bhattacharya, Pradip Mukherjee, Sohag Sen, Damini Basu.
This year, KIFF is to focus on Chinese movies, organisers said that emphasising cinema’s reach beyond borders sans political affiliations, organised by the West Bengal state government. KIFF will screen seven films from the neighbouring country.
